MP Backgrounds

At the heart of Magic Portraits are the 70+ copyrighted backgrounds, which have been produced by the award-winning Magic Portrait creative team, lead by Gregg Lauer. Gregg's a digital artist, illustrator and photographer whose art and photographic work has been published in books and magazines nationally and internationally, and featured in dozens of galleries through out the US. New backgrounds are created continually.

MP Backgrounds have been created specifically for composite portraiture and utilize original photography shot by the MP staff.   Each is produced at an aspect ratio of 11" x 14".  When you order a Magic Portrait you will receive a high-resolution jpeg sized at 11" x 14" at 300 dpi, that will look great when printed up to 22" x 28" (or larger at poster quality).

Production Team

Our team of digital technicians utilizes a proprietary set of photo enhancement and compositing techniques in tandem with our collections of copyrighted backgrounds to create these high-resolution portraits. Our compositing process includes 20+ meticulous steps for each portrait with quality control measured every inch of the way. For color management the Adobe RGB color space is used for consistent output from any printer/lab.
